I have so much damage to my home. I have 3 children and my daughter has asthma and we had to evacuate for 14 days because of no electricity. I have registered with Fema 3 days after the hurricane and I have not receive not one red cent not even the $2000. I had an inspector come out to my home and said that I don't have enough damage. They also said that my insurance should pay for my personal property. Well, I only have fire insurance and they have denied me because they don't cover that but only fire. I am a renter not a homeowner. I don't know what to do.

please don't give up you need your strength to think clearly. go speak to a fema rep. in person wait your turn and explain your situation for the facts we did and my niece after a few weeks was receiving housing once the mold takes over your children and yourself may become very ill don't mess with the rent house move on don't give up it could be a long haul there's so many resorces for women with children you need to find the right person willing to LISTEN Good Luck and Merry Christmas

Your situation sounds very difficult, but since you are a renter, you can pack up and move. I know it's hard to suddenly leave the place where one has lived for a long time. Take this with a sense of adventure and your children will adapt to change well
