Dear Tom:

I have a big problem. I have about 30 very tall pine trees that fell in my yard. two fell on my house. The two on my house Allstate will pay to remove but the 30+ in my yard they won't.

I only make about $1200 per month and cannot afford to hire a tree service company. Do you know anything or any organization that will help me with this problem?

I've heard FEMA will only help with trees on house not property. I can't even get to my house b/c trees are on driveway too.

Thanks for any help or info you can give me.

I wish I knew more about this. Usually this is an insurance thing. Perhaps FEMA can be of help after insurance is settled, which is usually how they operate. Otherwise I don't know. Good Luck. Maybe somebody else has some ideas.

The Southern Baptist Convention Disaster Relief “Chain Saw Teams” (from Tennessee)have been staying at Houston River Baptist Church, located at the corner of Houston River Rd. and Hwy 27 (north of Sulphur). You might try there for help.

Best thing to do if they are any size is call a logger. Call Temple Inland or Boise Cascadeor find a logging crew such as Don Gray Dry Creek, Lenord Johnson, Cravens, Eddie Ray Havens, Merryville, J7 J logging I know there are lots more can not think of who they are, but they can steer you in the right direction.Look under Timber and Timber land Companies in the yellow pages. If your trees are just felled, and not damaged they are worth money, do not give them away or pay a tree removel service to haul them away, for they are going to sell them at market and make money off them.
