My brother and his family and his father and mother in law lived in Creole/ Oak Grove Today they received letters from FEMA saying thier cases have been closed for housing , and any assistance, Reason given by FEMA
Housing assistance>>>W69D-withdrawn-Signature not Obtained (90-69D)
Moving/Storage>>>>IID-Ineligible-Insufficient Damage (Please note how much more damage do they require, when your whole house is gone?) Personal Property>>W69D- Withdrawn- Signature not Obtained(90-69D)
Now someone Please tell me how the crap are they to sign a document for FEMA, when everything was done on line? I think we need to start raising HELL, statr a petition not only to boot the govenor out of office, but who ever is running FEMA and the High chief of FEMA.
Enough is enough, how much more suffering do they want Rita survivors to go through?
It is time we say we have had enough of the BS.
and we wonder why our country is in the shape it is in, poverty levels so high.
If you sit on your butts, and do nothing but hold your hand out they reward you>
If you try to live a good clean life, work hard to have something they stick a knife in you and then keep twisting it.
Your darn right I am mad!
Everyone better be on your toes.
Check you case out or you might find yours has been closed as well.

I agree, we live in Johnson Bayou and there is no sign of our house remaining, it was wiped clean. The Fema inspector called and said there is nothing there. He said 'your house is gone'

I go a letter yesterday from FEMA said my case was withdrawn - no contact with code WNC. I had been calling FEMA on a daily basis since we are 600 miles away and could not have gotten back for a inspection if we tried. It is had to believe 'no contact'. I asked why they even put your email on the form.
I agree FEMA is attempting to find any reason not to help.

I challenge the proper authorities in Allen, Cameron, Cal. Jeff D. Parishes to get on the ball fight for your people. If not you need to go as well. Who pays the saleries? Last time I checked it was us good old working class stiffs that paid tax dollars, not the ones in the welfare line. Seems they seem to have it backwards, they must think if you draw a welfare check, ( now do not get me wrong there are some that really need it) But the ones that sit on thier duffs, and afraid the sun will cause a wrinkle, I don't think any were does it say on thier checks, income tax of FICA withheld.

our case is also CLOSED. the fema rep said the deadline for expedited assistance was last Friday. If you didn't get it before then, you won't get it. This is all so wrong to be treated so unfairly.

That is because they tacked Rita on to Katrina. We need to raise cain.flood the white house with e-mails faxes, and letters. Katrina survivors got 90 days Rita survivors only got 30 + days because they placed us on Katrina talk about discrimination. I think everyone need to find a lawyer who will file a discrimination suit agaist FEMA.

Hi, I am from Grand Chenier, and we lost everything. My application was closed because they said I listed my residence as a secondary and not a primary residence. They also messed up on my ss # and physical address. It has taken me up till yesterday to finally get anything straight and get an inspector assigned to go out to my house. This whole ordeal totally sucks.

Good morning to you all Mad I am upset also. I have family & friends living in L.C. & surrounding areas. They have r'cd some help thru FEMA but not that much. Can't you go to the Chamber of Commerce in your area? It's worth a try. My concern is not only of their homes but all the debris in their yards. They say that the garbage trucks WON'T pick it up unless it is in their garbage cans. Well, how can you put such BIG items in garbage cans???? My parents aren't able to do that kind of stuff anyway.Daddy is under Hospice care & Mom has a fractured wrist & they both have a lot of health problems. What are these people suppose to do?????? I live 1000 miles away from them. My daughter & son-in-law live 4 hrs. away, so they have been going when she is off on the weekends & trying to get the yard cleaned up,my sister & her family live in L.C. & have been doing what they can to help Mom & Daddy also. BUT....then there is the trash & garbage that WON'T be picked up because of it not being in garbage cans. So, again I ask... What can be done about this???? I am truly SORRY about about all you that has lost your homes & ect. It is awful & devastating. I PRAY for all of y'all. Can your Churhes help???? GOD bless you all. GOD loves you & so do many others, including myself. Our Prayers are w/you all. Try to have a good day. GOD will bless those that help themselves & HE knows you can't do it all.
Be Joyful always;pray continually;give thanks in all circumstances, for this is GOD'S WILL for you in CHRIST JESUS. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

SmilerBIG HUGS to you all. Best of everything to y'all.

Sincerely,
CLB
from Ankeny, Iowa

Hi there Fauls Fountains. I'm Ashley, and I'm from New Orleans, but not living there now due to severe damage. Roof and wall collapse, etc. I'm having the same problem that you are... insufficient damage designation from FEMA. What a slap in the face, huh? I mean, just how damaged does your home have to be? It's fit for pigeons, but not for humans. Adding insult to injury, I know at least a half dozen people who were given the works from FEMA (free rent for A year, everything), but still have completely livable homes. Some with no damage at all. I wish someone would explain this to me. Anyway, I'm appealing, of course, but I also called that law firm that's representing the class action suit against FEMA. They said that we have a very compelling case... very strong... and I expect to hear back from them soon. They want to form different subclasses in the suit, and are sorting it all out. I actually told them about the posting of yours that I saw, because so far, you're the only one I've found in the same boat. Maybe you should call them. There's more info about the suit here: http://www.prnewswire.com/cgi-bin/stories.pl?ACCT=104&S...05/0004213328&EDATE=
Their phone numbers can easily be looked up at anywho.com. That's how I tracked them down. Let me know how you fare. Good luck.... Ashley

Kevin Noel: Not all of us New Orleanians are lazy. For example, some of us, unlike you, actually worked hard in school and consequently learned how to spell.

Thanks, for the information. I wish you all the best. Yes, people seem to forget, and try to place everyone in one basket sort to speak. They tend to only see the rotten apples, and forget there are ruby red sweet ones in the basket as well. Thanks, and keep me informed of your outcome as well. God Bless.
