Can anyone verify that they have had success in going to a DRC for the $2000 expidited checks? I have been thru everything including going to the FEMA DRC site locally and being told that maybe I might receive the money but they aren't sure. They really were no more help thatn the operators at the 1-800 number.
We did get Red Cross checks from Jennings. They just started coming in last week. I got mine on Monday. Several people I know have gotten them last week and this week. We did them on the 3 and 4 of Oct. The people at the DRC told some of my friend it would take about two weeks for them to get the $2000 but that they should get it after all the items on their applications were corrected. One Fema lady told me if you want to make sure they have all the info to mail a letter to Fema and explain that you were displaced and you are requesting the $2000 expedited asstiance. I wrote what to put on the letter and where to send it on another page on this message board look under Fema Reimbursements. She said start all statements to them the same way. (I declare....)You will see when you look at it. Just add the part about the $2000 to the Genarater part. Are if you just need the $2000 replace that sentence with the one about the genarator.
