I was just wondering if anyone has looked at their Entergy bill for this month? When I opened my bill it was more than last month. At first I just figured the rates went up.( No Suprise there) But after looking at it I had consumed more KW this month then last. My bill was from 9/03/05 to 10/04/05. Now keep in mine from 9/24 to 10/04 I had no power. How can you use more KW in 20 days then you had in 31 days? Then I read the little note on the bill that states, "READING ESTIMATED DUE TO HURRICANE KATRINA" I don't know about you but it seems they just guest at the amount of KW used for the month. Maybe they could not send out readers because of Hurricane Katrina, but I was with out power becasue of Huriicane Rita. It does not seem right to me.

I would call them and give them the correct reading. If not when they read again, yes you will only pay for what you used, but keep in mind, they do fuel ajustment cost, so if fuel prices drop any at all, it will cost you in the long run.If they go up, it will cost you more, it is a gamble. JMHO.

I can't give them the correct reading as my meter base was tore off in the storm. They came and installed a new one on the 7th when I got power back. Them saying that fuel cost more is one thing, but guessing at the amount we use is another. They should have guest less if anything, since we were out of power for almost half of the month. I will have another 3 days on next months bill with no power but my bill will probaly stay the same. Go figure.

Then I would challenge them, and amke them prorate the bill.

I plan on calling them tomorrow. I was just wondering if anyone elso noticed. Seems like everything was affect by Katrina but few things are said about Rita. Don't get me wrong I feel sorry for the Katrina victims as well as us, but every thing you here on the news or on your bills is about Katrina. I have received several bills that have deferred my payment for the month because of Katrina. Sure I'm glad not to have to pay those bills right now with everything going on but why only mention Katrina. Like Cameron Parish was to small to worry about. You would think Entergy would be working with us and not against us, since Rita has had a big impact on them.
