Hi Betty, Do you live in Lake Charles? I am originally from L.C. My family are all there & in surrounding areas. I now live in the state of Iowa w/my wonderful hubby. I am so sorry for everything you & so many others are going through. My heart goes out to you & all the others. I pray continually for you all & so does the members of the Church my hubby & I belong to. I am praying & hoping that you all will recceive the help you know. DON'T give up. Have Faith & Trust in GOD. He never gives us more than He knows we can handle. However,He DOES test us all the time Be joyful always; PRAY continually; give thanks in ALL circumstances, for this is GOD'S will for you in CHRIST JESUS. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 GOD BLESS you & anyone else that reads this. My heart goes out to you all. Have a Blessed day/night. Great BIG HUGS sent to you. Sincerely, CLB (Char) |

Thanks so much for your kind words..I know God test us and that everything happens for a reason.. I've been tested a lot lately.. My son has coustody of his 4 kids and moved in with me 5 years ago. The oldest is 12 and the youngest is 6. He works 7/7 offshore so I've been granny/momma/whatever else. I have lots of medical problems too. In fact I'm having a total knee replacement the 15th. It's been rough on me but I wouldn't have it any other way. It's kept me going and a reason not to give up. I figure if God wants me to be here for them then I have to make myself get up everyday and be there for the kids. Not everyday is easy but I manage. I'm told most people wouldn't do the things I've done but I know in my heart it's the right thing to do. I lost my dad in 97 and I thought that was hard but this year I lost 2 brothers within 4 months and holding my mom together was really a battle. This storm and FEMA problems are minor compared to the things I've been through. 5 surgeries in the past 2 years and medical bills out of this world. Now another one. But God will see me through..if not..it's meant to be. I just pray I will be here so I can see the grandkids grow up. I hope they someday appreciate what I've done for them. We only have a 2 bedroom home, so my husband and I gave up our bedroom so the 2 girls and 2 boys can each have a bedroom.. we sleep in the living room..one bath, and we've lived that way for the past 5 years...now all we ask is for monies to help fix what is broken...again..Thanks for the prayers and the kind words..God Bless You !!

Hi Betty,
My son & his 3 boys lived w/us for a while, so, I know what you are going through. The boys were 13, 10 & 8.His daughter will not ever live with him. All 4 of the Grands are living w/their Mom in Port Orchard, Wa. That's where her family live. They were living in Lake Charles, La., they moved before the Hurricane hit L.C. We don't see them much. But, I call them every weekend. I miss them a lot. My son is in North Carolina. I went to school w/an Olmsted. I can't remember his first name. Well, you enjoy your Grandchildren. It is good to hear from you. We are continuing to PRAY for you & the others. Take care. GOD Bless you & your family. Have a Blessedd day/night !!! Sincerely, Charlott |
