went to Jennings today and talked face to face with a FEMA Rep. They were very nice and helpful AND corrected all mistakes made by the rude phone Reps...I'm very satisfied and was worth the 2 hours I waited to get help. If you have problems, take a ride to Jennings and let these wonderful people help you too..They're open 7 days a week and will be there until everyone has been helped. (:

Betty, I'm glad your experience was a good one. Ours was also. Can you tell me where in Jennings you go to talk to the FEMA people? I am assisting my elderly neighbors in getting their $2000. Thanks!

Hwy 90 into Jennings...Northside School just behind the Rite Aid Shopping center..park in the football field ..and follow the signs.. it's on Hwy 90 so you can't get lost..you'll be satisfied to talk with these people..

thank you, ma'am! I read in the paper this morning that there will be a site set up in Lake Charles. We may just check with that one.

How long did it take you to get your money? I went on Oct. 14 and still have not received it.

What the biggest problem with FEMA is are the Reps they have working for them. They play God with all of us. It's up to the Rep you talk to to make the changes. I had to get really angry to get my point across to the woman at the other end of the phone line. She insisted she could not change information but it was only when I made her feel really guilty that she changed and corrected my forms. The next morning I checked the internet and the info had been changed and I was accepted. Two days later I received the money deposited into my account. I first applied online 7 days after Rita. My mom and applied at the same time and she has yet to receive hers. She's been to FEMA twice..I had FEMA here today to check out the damages..all they said when they left was I would hear from FEMA within 7-10 days....(holding my breath)....Good Luck with FEMA..call your congressman..
