If anyone has any info about East St. in vinton I would love to hear it. I called the police and added my dad's name (Richard Longnion) to the list to check on his house but they say it could be a couple of days before we hear anything.

You can call Vinton again. They are able to look around a little better now. Or you can call Vinton Fire Dept. 337-589-3977,Sheriff Office 337-589-3624 Vinton PD 337-589-3561. Hope this info can help you and hope your dad's home is ok! Most houses in Vinton are standing with tree damage and roof damage. I am from Vinton, Raywood LeMaire's daughter.

I have moved to eldorado ar. last month but still own my home in Vinton which I hear has trees all over it. Haven't heard anything yet other then 7 to 10 before electric back on, Heberts Grogery and truck stop is gone, longhorn truck had heavy damage parts of Hwy 90 and Hwy 109 are impassable. I sure hope your dad's home is all right.

Natalie thank you for responeding to our message but this is Belinda, Clints Sister. My dad is here in Alabama with me and my family. Clint and Joella and the boys are ok but are still down there. They are staying in De Quincy with her sister. I talked to the fire dept. in Vinton and they said there was only roof damage to dad and maw-maws houses. Thank God. feeling a little better. talked to my brother from sulphur. They let him in to check on his house and he is at work now. he works for chemwaste. Says it looks like a warzone in some places.

I worked there with Clint in 97' or 98' as a contractor for Civil Construction at Chemwaste and probably would have hired on fulltime until I got in a bad car wreck.

I use to live in Vinton and have friends there that I can't find out any info on. One is Samantha Guillory and family and the other is Donna Godeaux and family. Donna was staying at her Dad and Mom's because of Katrina. They live at 1511 Eddy Street. Can someone please let me know how the damage is and if the Guillorys and Godeaux's are ok. Kim I'm alright i'm back home in Marrero. Mom and Dad are home in Vinton, they have some damage but not that bad, it could've been worse.
