My family has been getting in to JB for "look and leave". We've been trying to get more info... not much luck, except regarding the cemetery. See what we've found so far at http://rrcameronparishla.blogspot.com/.
I saw Mark Young a few days ago in JB working on the side of the road. If you haven't been down there or seen pictures of JB, it is horrible. Only a few buildings won't have to be completely torn down and rebuilt. You probably won't remember me because I was in elementary school whenever you were around but you definately know my mom Diane. She was the secretary at the school. Her and my dad and grandmother are at my house in Evangeline. Their house was moved about two acres and has about 6 inches of mud in it. Ask me some questions and I will try and give you all the info that I know.
Keith, I remember you well, I hope your family are all OK. I went to Holly Beach the wed. before the storm. I didn't get to see any one while i was there, i just hope everyone is alright. I am sick to see what has happened. Send every one my love and i am praying for ya'll. Tell your Mom Hi for me and if there is any thing i can do let me know. I live in Lafayette, now. But JB is my home and my heart goes out to all.If you hear for some one let them know Iam looking for them to see if they are alright. Thanks Keith, keep in touch. My Email is knoel@stokesandspiehler.com God Bless every one!!!
I taught at Johnson Bayou High. I taught Keith Price when he was in 10th grade. I am concerned about the school. Do you know the condition of the school?
Came from Johnson Bayou yesterday,Mark was working at his house removing all the items that were flooded. Like everyone else he has major storm surge damage. Ninety percent of the homes will have to be rebuilt. Still limited access to the area,no utilities, water,or services. Projected completion of electic line 4 to 6 weeks.

Hey Mr. Sevin. I was in your class as a freshman. My name is Melissa Trahan (Dearbonne now) So glad to hear from you. Hope all is well.
I am Utly Trahan's grand daughter. He is in Grand Lake with Peggy and Mike. His house got minimal damage. Porch broke and shingles blown off. All his kids houses in Johnson Bayou except for Ricky and Lynn's were severely damaged. Randy's is in the marsh next to Tim's. Billy Storm's house is way in the marsh, along with Eula Mae Griffith, Randy Trahan, Tim Trahan, Ivan Berentine (in the refuge), Junior and Delores Boudreaux, Snookum and Marie Donahue, Rodney Donahue, Aunt Sis Storm, and Don Billiot. Lots of other houses off blocks. Alton's off blocks, Allen's gutted. But everyone is safe and alive. I don't know where Uncle Allen is staying but I saw him the other day down there, Billy went to stay with Kurt's wifes family for a while but I dont know if he is still there. Most people are in Carlyss and Sulphur. Mom and Dad (Marsha and Ricky), Lynn and family are in Carlyss. Malcolm, Randy and Tony are staying in JB working. Johnson Bayou kids in school will be attending school at Hackberry. (as Johnson Bayou students)
