I registered over the phone with FEMA 3 days after the hurricane. They said I didn't evacuate. I then called the Lake Charles number on Mon. Oct. 10 and they were supposed to send in my information. On Fri, Oct. 14, I went to the FEMA office in Jennings, and did an appeal for the $2000 and corrected items on the report. I would also check each day on the internet and look at the report until 3 days ago when it now tells me that it is no longer found. Is it just taking FEMA this long, or have received or not recieved their money. I am wondering if there is another problem or are others waiting also?? Please let me know if you applied after me and after I went to Jennings if you have already received your money. We really need it now -- the money we used to evacuate was for our bills that need to be paid.

I just got off the phone with FEMA, all you get is a run around. Everyone that filed on my computer, days after I filed, have had FEMA inspections, and gotten money form FEMA and Red Cross, we housed 7 families here, well over 20+ people, our home has damage, NO FEMA money or inspector. They first said they lost our registration, then has us refile, then the packaet came only my husbands name on it, so we called FEMA to try and get it straight, then FEMA told us the best thing to do was for me to file by myself, so we did that, Now I have gotten 3 FEMA packages in, and now they tell me we had duplicate applications, so not it has been sent to be reviewed to make sure there is no fraud. So I asked, who can I speak to, who can tell me when the FEMA inspector will be here to view my home? The answer I got was well if you have not heard anything in 2 weeks call us back.Have a good day.I can not give you a number who to call this is the only number. Thanks Goodbye. What a crock....

Hello everyone FEMA is a joke they don't help the ones that need it they are to busy giving to 2,3 ,4 people per households the ones that LIED to them the ones that told the truth are F***** so to speak i've sent in an appeal went to 2 DRCs and still nothin but i've have learned 1 thing from this what to tell them the next time hope there is no next time. If you got $2000.00 feel like one of the blessed one because so many of us didn't i'm glad for the ones who told the truth and got it, the ones that LIED are in for it what comes around goes around
