I am Utly Trahan's grand daughter. He is fine and staying with Mike and Peggy in Grand Lake. Daddy (Ricky)and Lynn are in Carlyss. Randy, Malcolm, and Tony are staying in JB working. Paw Paw's house had minimal damage. Shingles gone and porch tore up. Randy's house is a mile in the marsh along with Eula Mae Griffith, Tim Trahan, Delores and Junior Boudreaux, Snookum and Marie Donahue, Rodney Donahue, Ivan Berentine (in the refuge) Aunt Sis Storm, Billy Storm, Don Billiot. I think there is 8 or so. Ricky and Lynn's houses had minimal damage... no water inside. Malcolm, Tony, Peggy and Danny's old house all had water a few feet inside with mud and such. I don't know where Uncle Allen is staying but I saw him the other day and talked to Aunt Coochie. Everyone is fine and dandy. Just making it work. Johnson Bayou Students will start going to Hackberry as Johnson Bayou Students two and a half days per week.
I am Utly Trahan's grand daughter. He is in Grand Lake with Peggy and Mike. His house got minimal damage. Porch broke and shingles blown off. All his kids houses in Johnson Bayou except for Ricky and Lynn's were severely damaged. Randy's is in the marsh next to Tim's. Billy Storm's house is way in the marsh, along with Eula Mae Griffith, Randy Trahan, Tim Trahan, Ivan Berentine (in the refuge), Junior and Delores Boudreaux, Snookum and Marie Donahue, Rodney Donahue, Aunt Sis Storm, and Don Billiot. Lots of other houses off blocks. Alton's off blocks, Allen's gutted. But everyone is safe and alive. I don't know where Uncle Allen is staying but I saw him the other day down there, Billy went to stay with Kurt's wifes family for a while but I dont know if he is still there. Most people are in Carlyss and Sulphur. Mom and Dad (Marsha and Ricky), Lynn and family are in Carlyss. Malcolm, Randy and Tony are staying in JB working. Johnson Bayou kids in school will be attending school at Hackberry. (as Johnson Bayou students)

I am delighted to find your postings regarding Johnson Bayou. I hope sincerely that your families and all my cousins in Johnson Bayou are well and safe in the wake of Hurricane Rita.
I am the great-grandson of Robert Olivier Trahan, born April 29, 1859 in Abbevile, the son of John Onezime Trahan, Jr. I am the grandson of his son John Trahan, born about 1888 in Johnson Bayou. John's siblings were Uncle Hill (Hilliard?) and Aunt Lennie. John's sons were John Curtis (my father) and Ray Kenneth (my uncle).
I am very interested in any information you might be able to share with me about Robert Olivier and his family. I am of course happy to share with you any information I have about the Trahan family.
We are all descended from Guillaume Trahan who arrived in Acadie (now Nova Scotia) from France in 1636. I have the entire history back to Guillaume.
My full name is John Curtis Trahan, Jr.
I hope this communication finds you in the best of health, and all of our family well and safe.
Your cousin,

Hello to all Trahan relatives. Mike and I have been living in Lake Charles since beginning of October. Daddy (Utly Trahan) lived here with us until recently.Right now he is in Johnson Bayou staying at his home with Tony Ray. As soon asJB has electricity, we will be moving back with a travel trailor. Our home cannot be salvaged. Ricky, Lynn and Daddy's homes received wind damage, but no flooding. My son Layne's home on the Middle Ridge was plenty high not to flood, but wind damage to roof let in lots of rain to cause major damage to the interion. To Taiji, came across your site a few nights ago. I am glad to see that you are interested in genealogy, so am I. I made sure that I brought out my genealogy info when I left JB. Hope to here from you.

I have been reading the posts, and yet to find one that says Peggy Trahan Boudreaux's house is fine. Did we misread?
