It's Kane, Gerald's son. Mom said that the front looked alright but the back side (south side) had most of the shingles ripped off and water probably got into the house from the roof like every other house down there. How/Where are you guys?

Hey Melissa! I'm fine and the family is ok. They are at the house right now trying to cover the roof to keep any more water getting in. The house, although standing, took quite a beating like everything else down there. I hate to see what Mawmaw Mae's house looks like inside.

Hi, My name is Chad Hayden, i live on the island on Biglake street near the marina. My neighbor is Wayne Maturn with Wild life and fisheries. He recently called me along with other friends from the island (Eric Ledeaux, Mark McElvin)who all made it down there by boat. They informed me that basically all homes on buildt on stilts in our area came through with no major structural damage, only roofing and siding issues which can be expected with the winds that came through. In my case i wasn't as lucky, i had at one time 3 to 4 feet of water in my house and i'm told i have aprox. 2 ft of mud remaining in it along with a tree in my kitchen. They told me basically all the homes in the old area not elevated had standing water at one time in them. There is also lots of debris present on all roads and both pontoon bridges are out. Oh i was also told that Harber Lights came out pretty good and recently talked with Brent James (Big Daddy's son) and he told he can't wait to repair and have a huge party for the community.
