I was told today, that the attorney below, will help you at no charge to you. They are out to help the residents get a fair shake.I have not been able to confirm this information, but it is worth checking into. Came from a very reliable sorce. What do you have to lose?
And No I do not work for them or know anything of their work, just thought I would pass this on to try and help if I can.

I went to Cox, Cox and ----. I emailed pictures, gave them my insurance info., etc.
After a few days they wanted me to sign a contract. The contract gave them 33.3 to 40% of settlement. The lawyer reduced it down to 25%. I didn't sign. I will try on my own to negoitated with insurance co (Farm Bureau). So far they have given me a check for $9000 and something. The check reads "FOR FULL PAYMENT OF HURR RITA CLAIM". I still have it in the envelope. I'm afraid to accept it. On the internet site for Farm Bureau it tells me my claim is closed. All we had was homeowner. Our home is there, but totaled. Farm Bureau says they won't pay for flood line down. But, they didn't even pay enough for flood line up.
