I keep trying but I can never figure it out. Maybe I'm in the wrong place...can anyone help me?

Here is the number you can call. Just make sure you have all the security #'s handy and phone #'s. I applied 2 days ago and haven't heard anything. I've learned patience thorugh all of this.

I've called and they said you have to ck online but I can't figure out how.

Go to http://www.fema.gov and on the right hand side there's a box that has links to "Apply on Line: Online Individual Assistance Center" and a list of several other links, one of which is "Check the status of your application." Click on the link that you need and follow the instructions.

I've done that 3 times and it gives me some message saying it can't be processed and to call for more information...yeah right!

I just created an account, but had some trouble at first. You must create an account first then you can check status. "just don't stop trying".

The ONLY way to check online for the status of your request is to go OFF LINE and call. I got through in 4 minutes to a real human to complete an application. I got through tonight in 20 minutes to check the status. They said call back in 48 hours to see if I qualify for the $2000 emergency payment. Let's see how well my tax dollars work!

you can check status online, and it will tell you if you are aproved or denied.

be sure that you enter that it is an emergency or you will get denied. once you create an account for yourself they will send you a pin and then you can check your status. it is much easier on line than waiting forever for a phone call. Good Luck
