I went in and got my pets this morning. If it makes anyone feel better I was amazed how cool the house was, and in fact the faucets I left running for them were still running. I actually wondered if it might to leave them to avoid the stress if I knew we could get back within a week.

I tried to rescue my moms cat and it went off like a weed eater when I stuck it in the truck cab so I just left it a lot of food and water. When I pulled into my driveway to check my house out I was attacked by two dogs that came at me from across the road. My uncle and cousin were attacked by a huge bull. These animals are going crazy and it is quickly becoming a significant safety hazard.

More on cat left at office on Broad Street... He is a black short haired male. His name is "Felix" (also knows "fe-fe") The office is at 1924 Broad Street. It is a big grey brick building across from old cemetary between Hokus Pokus Liquor Store and Radford Buick Mazda. He should be in the front showroom area. He likes to hang out on top ceiling ledge. I left him with at 10 lb bag of food on top of a table and filled our floor water fountain up to the top. Please contact me at 337.842.6806 if you have any information. There are plenty windows for you to look through.

LeAnne and her family picked up two birds for my parents the other day.

All I can say is thank you and God bless each of you for helping. My parents are both looking forward to being able to return the kind selfless support you have shown to them.

I am writing on behalf of a friend from Lake Charles.
Missing a male Wirehaired Vizsla, Baron (aka "Jug") and female Italiano Spinone, Reba. They escaped, along with female WHV and male Spinone in evac preparations--the female WHV came right back & the male Spinone was found Wed. night, but the male WHV & female Spinone are still missing from their home at 102 McVay St. in Lake Charles.
Male Spinone was found behind McNeese football stadium, had lost its collar.
Their owner is currently in Austin, TX.
Can anyone give me contact information for local shelters, animal control officials, please?
The two missing dogs are posted on the petfinder disaster rescue website & breed rescue folks have been alerted.
The Wirehaired Vizsla is typical Vizsla rust in color, wiry coat with a bristle face beard/eybrows/moustache, with a small white mark shaped like a bow-tie on his chest. He is microchipped & has a tatoo. He was imported from Hungary & is not docked.
The Spinone is white/tan. Bothwere wearing collars with tags from the University Animal Clinic, Dr. Robert Laguhtin (sp?) of Lake Charles.
Anyone with any information, please contact me by email
debdoug73@hometelco.net
or call 785-667-4685 anytime day or night.
Thak you,
Deb Wall

I just spoke with my friend--he has been in contact with local animal control & law enforcement folks that he knows.
He says that as of Saturday, rescue efforts were focused on feeding animals, that they weren't being picked up & sheltered yet.
His 2 dogs were believed to have been seen on/around McNeese campus late last week.

I have been in and around the McNeese area several times over the last few days. We haven't seen them yet. But I will keep an eye out and let you know if we see anything.

Thanks. My friend talked to a maintenance engineer at the college on Saturday, whom he knows. The guy knows Ted's dogs & he was pretty sure it was them he saw around where the Guard has set up right by the campus. The male spinone was found behind the stadium there last week, so I'm hoping these two are staying together in the area. The WHV is a big lanky red dog with a short wiry coat, bristle face & a long tail. He was wearing a reptile skin patterned nylon collar.
The Spinone is white/tan, with a coat similar to a yellow lab, and has a bristle face & beard. She's wearing a pink collar.
We sure appreciate you keeping an eye out for them.
Sincerely,
Deb

I am missing my chocolate lab. He was last seen at 1002 Sycamore St. We fear he was stolen, as the back gate and kennel door were found open. He is wearing a camo collar, no tags. If anyone has any info or has seen anything in that area please contact me thebabyco@aol.com. We really miss him
