hello! I am so happy and I appreciate this very much if you can. My house is 1737 N.TALLOWWOOD DRIVE IN LAKE CHARLES. I have a sweet and scared tabby cat. She is a spayed female that has been declawed. She is probably under that master bedrooms matress or in our closet in the corner. The shelter that I am at wouldn't allow cats. I can't sleep at night thinking how scared she is. if you have any questions call me at 304-4550.God Bless

Is there anyone that can get pets out of homes? My sister in law has a couple of cats and an iguana in her house on the 2100 block of 20th street.

We are very worried about my grandmother's horses -- 17 of them! -- at her farm between Sulphur and Vinton. I input all of their data into petfinder and also called ASPCA and Louisiana Animal Control, let them know they were there without food or water since last Thursday. I worry that these agencies are overwhelmed. I am in Austin, and my family is having a hard time getting back in to Sulphur and to Vinton.

The farm is at 3053 Highway 90 West. 4 miles out of Sulphur, southside of highway, between 8 and 9 miles east of Vinton; "Country Grocery" on Highway 90 west is a landmark; east of WPA Road; 3/4 mile west of Choupique Rd.

Anyone I can contact to check on the horses?

Your help is appreciated; what can I do?

Liz

Try contacting Calc Par Animal Control at 439-8879. Or the Sheriff's office 491-3700. This is the Lyon's place?

Yes, it is the Lyons place. Grandma already called the sheriff's office and I called Louisiana Animal Control. Poor things seem ovewhelmed! Thank you for this info and any info, should you make your way out there. I'm worried that they need food and water.

I would like to know the same thing. I have a lizard who needs a heat lamp on him, and a bird in my house which I know that I cannot get to. They do not have enough food and I do not have anyone there who can check on them. What can I do if I am not allowed back into Lake Charles? I was not aware that we would not be allowed to return for so long!

20th Street is in Lake Charles's Oak Park district. Sounds like it's just west (?) of 5th Ave.

goudela,

Any word yet when animal rescue teams will be allowed in?

My parents are growing impatient with hearing from the SPD that nobody is allowed in, yet all be it a small number, we are seeing that determined people are managing to get in. Their home in Sulphur is only one block off of I-10 and I don't know how much longer they will be willing to abide by what the officials are requesting.

As I am sure everyone is keenly aware, ties between pets and their owners can become as strong as family ties. Specifically, my mother has had enough negativity in her life that her 25+ year relationship with these creatures is particularly important to her.

Thanks again and God bless,
Dennis

If you guys get an opportunity...I have a pregnant cat that was extremely close to giving birth when I left. I had to leave her behind and I have been worried sick about her. So have my kids. She is grey and answers to "cuckoo". She can be found at 300 1/2 Phillips Rd. in Westlake, LA. I can be reached at 337-764-3299. She is probably under the trailer. Thanks for ANY help.
