I was talking to a FEMA representative and indicated the initial 3 month payment for rental housing for Cameron Parish is $1065 or $355/mo versus Katrina receiving $2358 or $786/mo for rental assistance. Both the Katrina and Rita funds could go for rent anywhere in the country so could not imagine why there would be such a major difference. Has anyone else received the same answer? It would not suprise me based on the other favorable treatment Katrina has received. Maybe we just got hit by the wrong storm. Oddly enough Cameron Parish was declared Federal Disaster Areas for both Rita and Katrina. I hope it is just incorrect information.

I was told by our FMEA person on the phone that we qualified for $1710. But of course I haven't received it yet so I don't know.
