Can anyone tell me if New Orleans has been declared any FEMA money for Rita hurricane? I know that others parishes in Louisiana has but what about New Orleans?

New Orleans didn't get Rita Southeast Louisiana did so NO MORE FOR NEW ORLEANS we have heard enough about New Orleans I think ya'll got more than you deserved so enough already

I'm neither bitter, or lonely, and this did happen to us her name was Rita. But the folks in southwest Louisiana don't sat around, and wait for FEMA, or anyone else to come bail us out we get out, and take care of our own

That's wonderful for you, just so you know, it's not about waiting for fema it's about the fact that since my insurance is doing us injustice, and I pay my taxes, yes I have a right to inquired.

Sorry to hear about your insurence injustice. But we are all being done injustly. again sorry but I beleave Katrina victems get only what is coming to them for the Katrina storm. The Rita victems sorry to say have been even more wrongly done. Seems everything we hear is Katrina,Katrina,Katrina. Nothing on Rita or help for Rita victems. So do you blame us for being so angry. Seems to us that by combining both these storms New Orleans gets the better deal. Thats why like boxer said we have to fend for ourselves here in the south Cameron parish. Because New Orleans and Katrina victems are getting the better of everything. Darn right we're pissed off.

Your so right Boxer. Now everyone down here needs to get rid of FEMA and all there building code crap and let us back in to take care of our buisness and let us build back the way we see fit. So what if they won't let us get flood insurence half of us couldn't aford the insurence anyways.Same with the sewage they have the funds But restricting anyone with less then 4 lots to get it at there property then refusing to let us have electric because we can't get sewage. All this crap needs to be thrown out. Same as the hight requirments throw it out. Hell Cameron Parish rebuilt after Hurricane Audrey. With no stupid codes as they trying to pass on us now. I think if we have to abide by these codes so should everyone from Florida to Texas. Yes That also includes New Orleans as its below sea level. And the so called Levee sure didn't protect them. So all this BS needs to stop and let our people come back and open up our Holly Beach and Cameron again. If they think by putting all these stupid codes on us will stop people from returning they best think again. We are South Louisiana FEMA we don't give up so easy we are a strong willed people , we are a hard working people. YOU will not take away our rights.

The only reason people from New Orleans are getting everything, is because of there vote, bottom line. They know with out there vote they have nothing!!!!! I hear people saying they are taking our jobs in N.O., but when you go watch know one, or i should say 99% of the people don't want to work. the free ride is over!!!! Get to work and support yourself and family like everyone. People need to own up, and quit blaming every one for there problems. Makes me sick to see what is happening in Southwest La. You know if people would have morals and stop having all these babies, that they don't want and fathers who don't pay or have anything to do with there kids, should be held accountable for them. why should i have to work and support my family and some one elses family. They shouldn't even get welfare. bring the fathers to court. Mothers should have to give the name of the fathers or they get know help. You see all these men from N.O. crying on TV about how they have no income and no job, but don't tell you that they are to lazy to get up and get on the bus. If people waited on them N.O. would never be rebuild. I just don't know what else to say, because know matter what , they all have some reason for being lazy. hey guys, let's be nice and remember that this has happened to all of us. We are all in the same boat no matter what part of the state we are from... let God deal with the ones who are being lazy and unresourceful. Let's stick together and help and get through this together...hopefully this will build even better character in us than what we had before. SWLA is a great place and has great people, let's not put a bad face on it! We know how we are and what strong people we are, let's be proud of that and not worry about the others. We can take care of us if we stick together!
